Mia blasts Nicole in jail for giving her baby away and never letting Mia know her baby died. After Mia goes, Nicole ponders what she has done. Brady arrives and assures her he's there to help.

EJ learns Stefano's assassin, Matteo, changed his story. He said EJ ordered the hit on Rafe. Roman and D.A. Woods question EJ. He's convinced Roman and Woods are trying to railroad him because they can't get to Stefano. After questioning Matteo himself, EJ comes to the realization that Stefano is behind it.

Brady and Arianna decode enough of Victor's file to figure out that he was involved with the drug cartel, if not actually running it. But it changed hands and Victor's out of the game. Brady confronts Victor, who never admits to anything, and blames Arianna for ruining Brady. Brady tells Victor he's going to die alone and bitter. At the same time, Troy comes to Arianna and confirms there's a new boss, but she's going to be out if she doesn't step up her drug sales.

Stephanie works with Maggie for the Green Roof Project for University hospital. Nathan weighs in and Stephanie is amazed by him even more. When he's gone, Maggie figures out that Stephanie is worried because Melanie is torn between Nathan and Philip. Stephanie makes a decision not to interfere. Later, however, Stephanie twists her ankle, Nathan tends to it and she has a fantasy of him kissing her. She blurts that he's making a huge mistake with Melanie.

Melanie goes off on Philip for the message he left about them being meant for each other. Philip calls her out on telling him in person. He thinks she wanted to see him. Melanie fights the attraction, goes to Nathan, and admits she's torn. Nathan is glad he's important enough for her to be honest with him and vows to fight for her. They make plans for later and Melanie goes home. Meanwhile, Maggie tells Philip to stay clear of Melanie. Later, Melanie is alone at home where's she's being watched. When she answers a knock at the door, a creepy stranger grabs her and says she's not getting away.

Caroline dashes any hopes Victor may have had for a future for them. Victor is crushed.
