At a local bistro, Max runs into Daphne, a tabloid journalist he had a fling with a few years earlier. Max tells her why he's in town and Daphne makes some calls. Daphne finds out that Melanie has a rep as a party girl who never pays for her own drinks. Stephanie discovers a high school boy, George, who knows Melanie personally. Stephanie talks to George and he tells her Melanie basically used him for his money. He was in love with her but once his parents cut off the money she disappeared. George warns Stephanie to stay away from Melanie, she's trouble. Meanwhile, back in Salem, Nick is on his lap top and finds a picture of Melanie partying in Cannes. Nick thinks she looks familiar but doesn't know why.

She's nervous when she sees Trent out of the corner of her eye. Trent approaches and tells Nicole he needs to speak with her. Trent is cagey with Nicole. She loses it, tells him she tired of being manipulated and controlled. Trent reminds her he has something on her, and not to test him. Trent discovers Max is in France and wants Nicole to find out why.

Marlena knows all about the court order and the little stunt EJ pulled with Mr. Burke at Immigration. EJ explains that he was trying to keep his family together. Marlena asks if he still loves Sami, and EJ says yes. He knows she has feelings for him too. The sad part is Sami is done with him.
