JAMES SCOTT
(E. J. Wells)

James Scott joins the cast of Days in the newly created role of "EJ Wells," a worldly and debonair bachelor and renowned race car driver with an unusual curiosity about Salem and its residents.

"I didn't always want to be an actor but within me I always knew I would be," James remarks, "just a feeling that has lived within me from my earliest childhood memories."

James was born in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England; home of Brown Ale and Newcastle United Football [soccer]. The eldest of four children, he has two brothers and a sister.

Initially schooled in Newcastle, James moved to an all boys boarding school in Lancaster. "I have to say I very much enjoyed boarding school. I played a lot of sports and represented the school in Rugby, Fencing, Swimming and Cricket. I was not the best student at math but did well in the arts and sciences. My favorite subject was geography, and still today the geek in me gets excited when I see rock formations. I recently was able to see this on a grand scale by flying over the Grand Canyon on a wonderfully clear day."

After school, James moved to Edinburgh, Scotland on a voyage of self discovery. His mother is Scottish and he spent a lot of time in Scotland as a boy. His first summer there he managed to get a job working at the famous Gilded Balloon Theatre and worked with such great actors/comedians as Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, and Eddie Izzard. "They set me in motion, giving me the drive I needed to move forward. Soon it became apparent that I would need to move to London in order to truly focus on this as a career," James fondly remembers.

After only a few weeks in London James was spotted by the modeling agency STORM, home to Kate Moss and Elle McPherson to name a few. Modeling allowed him to earn enough money to put himself through school. After looking through many of London's excellent and prestigious acting academies he applied for, and was accepted to, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

After studying there for two years James embarked on his journey to the United States. "I was in Hollywood, modeling, when a guy walked up to me and said "Hey, you're good looking; you should be an actor." It was this fellow who persuaded James to meet with acting coach Ivana Chubbuck. Ivana was a student of the late, renowned Hollywood acting coach Roy London. James believes that her influence, support and belief in him led to his success. Fans will recognize James most recently as "Ethan" from All My Children.

James recently moved back to Los Angeles from New York and lives with his best canine girl, Eva.;-)
